About Us

San Diego Elks Lodge #168 sits on Jackson Drive in the College Area, and the moment you walk through the door, you understand why it earns a 4.6-star rating across nearly 100 reviews. People here actually know each other's names. The bar pours honest drinks at prices that would embarrass most neighborhood spots, and the dining room serves quality meals without the pretense that follows you around too many San Diego restaurants.

The Lodge punches well above its weight when it comes to community impact. Members have opened the doors for Patrick Henry High School car wash fundraisers, hosted honor flights sending Navy veterans to Washington D.C., and quietly funded scholarships and youth programs across the 92119 zip code for decades. That's not marketing copy. That's what the reviews actually say.

Founded in the late 19th century, Lodge #168 carries the B.P.O.E. tradition of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity, but it doesn't wear those words like a costume. It lives them through banquet halls booked for celebrations, tables filled with friends old and new, and a membership that genuinely shows up for one another.

What We Offer

The Lodge offers a full-service bar and dining room open to members and their guests, with rotating menus and daily specials that keep regulars coming back week after week. Cocktail prices reflect what a neighborhood gathering place should cost, not what a Gaslamp District hotel charges.

Event and banquet facilities are available for private parties, milestone celebrations, memorial services, and organizational meetings. The space accommodates everything from an intimate retirement dinner to a larger community fundraiser. The Lodge also hosts recurring social events, holiday parties, and charity drives throughout the year that give members real reasons to gather.

For community groups and nonprofits, the Lodge has a track record of opening its doors for youth fundraisers and veteran-focused events. If you're a member or coming as a guest of one, you'll find a genuinely welcoming room with good food, fair prices, and people who are happy you showed up.

"My wife and I were visiting Lodge 168 on a Saturday afternoon. We visit Elks lodges whenever we travel and the majority of them are friendly and full of fun people. Not this day for us. The bartender was very friendly and talkative to the extent she could spend time with us. The bar was pretty full. No one else in the place said hello, where are you from, nothing. We had a drink and hit the road. If we ever get back into the area, we'll pass over Elks Lodge 168. We've found other lodges in the area that are much more friendly and appreciative of visiting Elks."

Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
